WW2 Norsk Hydro Heavy Water Container with Wooden Case
Originally part of a small collection, an empty Norsk Hydro steel capsule used to transport ampoules containing Heavy Water (Deuterium Oxyd HD20). Until now I have only ever seen a these in museums i.e. the Norwegian Industrial Workers museum and the International Spy Museum in the USA. A scarce original wartime issue 'Vickers-Armstrong Air Raid Precautions pin badge', depicting the companies "VA" logo surmounted by "A.R.P.", the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1941 and maker's details "JRG&S" (J.R.Gaunt & Son). WW2 Home Front Rest Centre Services Badge
A brass pressed badge with blue and white enamel and the initials RCS to the centre. This was worn by volunteers who manned the centres that were setup as the first port of call for those 'bombed out' of their homes or offices. The badge measures approx 25mm in diameter. read more
