WW2 - 2 x Inert Nobels's Explosive No 808
Two sticks of inert Nobel's Explosive No 808. Stamped with Nobel Trademark, Glasgow and states "This explosive is only to be used with a 1oz Primer". On the other side they are 'stamped' INERT with the crows foot (possibly dummy) I beleive to be filled with some form of plasticine. WW2 SOE Pressure Switch No. 5.
A flat oblong mechanism with an adjustable extension rod screwed into the top of the lid. When pressure of 50 Lbs or more is applied to the rod or the top of the box, a trip mechanism releases a striker which in turn detonates a percussion cap which is screwed in the the end of the box. This device is a small rectangular box with hinged lid, the other end of which forms a flat tail. As long as the tail is held down the switch is safe. When released the hinged cover rises and the switch fires. This type of switch was used by SOE and resistance groups for booby traps. read more

A 1940s or earlier thick heavy amber glass French beer bottle with ceramic stopper, marked Brasserie Mapataud Limoges. The glass is also embossed with the same name. The bottle measures approx 30cm x 6cm in diameter. Weighs approx 800g. Great condition with no chips. Acquired in France from part of an old French Resistance display. read more
